In the autumn of 1991, the first priority for Christina Williams was redesigning the Courtyard and the lawns beyond.

To echo the Tudor architecture of the Towers, the Courtyard design had been based on Elizabethan know gardens. Unfortunately the box hedging has had to be removed due to disease but the layout remains. The qua trefoil pool was inspired by the stone detailing on the house. Much care has been taken to create the impression of symmetry in what is, in reality, a highly asymmetric space.
